Lombard Lilac Festival Parade - Since 1929!

Please review your Final Instructions email (after May 6, 2024) for your Division assignment.

Below are your detailed line-up and dispersal instructions for each Division. Please communicate this to the rest of your party who will be participating with you.


Dignitary, Marching Band or Drill Team

YOUR DIVISION: LILAC
Check-in with the Parade Marshal in the North parking lot of Glenbard East High School, 1014 South Main Street, Lombard, IL 60148. This high school is located on the southwest corner at the intersection of Main and Wilson. The Parade Marshal at this location will provide specific parking lot or street location line-up details. The high school will be open for groups needing facilities. Buses are to discharge their passengers at the high school and proceed to the dispersal area east of Main and north of Maple. See the Parade Marshal at this location for specific line-up details before unloading any trailers.

LINE-UP TIME: No later than 12:00 PM

DISPERSAL: Dispersal is parade unit type specific. Please see dispersal instructions below.


Antique Car / Military Vehicle

YOUR DIVISION: ORANGE
Check-in with the Parade Marshal in the South parking lot of Glenbard East High School, 1014 South Main Street, Lombard, IL 60148. This high school is located on the southwest corner at the intersection of Main and Wilson. The South parking lot driveway is located just south of the high school off of Main. The Parade Marshal at this location will provide specific parking lot line-up details. The high school will be open for groups needing facilities.

LINE-UP TIME: ORANGE No later than 12:30 P.M.

DISPERSAL: Dispersal is parade unit type specific. Please see dispersal instructions below.


Equestrian

YOUR DIVISION: GREEN
Go directly to National University of Health Sciences, 200 East Roosevelt Road, Lombard, IL 60148. This educational institution is located north of Roosevelt Road at the intersection of Roosevelt Road and Highland Avenue. This is your Check-in area. See the Parade Marshal at this location for specific line-up details before unloading any trailers.

LINE-UP TIME: GREEN No later than 12:30 P.M.

DISPERSAL: Dispersal is parade unit type specific. Please see dispersal instructions below.


Floats / Trailers / Walking and Novelty Units

YOUR DIVISION: RED / WHITE / BLUE
Go directly to your division assignment provided to your Parade Unit Leader. Red Division will line-up on Hammerschmidt (north of Wilson), White Division will line up on Norbury and Blue Division will line-up on Charlotte. This is your Check-in areas, respectively. See the Parade Marshal at your assigned location for specific line-up details before unloading parade participants.

LINE-UP TIME: RED - No later than 12:00 PM / WHITE - No later than 12:00 PM / BLUE - No later than 12:30 PM

Shriner Units

YOUR DIVISION: Brown
Go directly to your division assignment provided to your Parade Unit Leader. Brown Division will line-up on Hammerschmidt (south of Wilson, just west of the Police Stations. This is your Check-in areas, respectively. See the Parade Marshal at your assigned location for specific line-up details before unloading parade participants.

LINE-UP TIME: Brown - No later than 12:00 PM

DISPERSAL: Dispersal is parade unit type specific. Please see dispersal instructions below.

The Parade kicks off at Main and Wilson (Glenbard East High School)

Please refer to the Parade Map for the parade route. See the dispersal instructions below


DISPERSAL INSTRUCTIONS

Note: PERSONAL VEHICLES are not allowed along the Parade route or in the line-up areas except to drop off participants. If you are a parent/guardian picking up your child after the Parade, please speak with your unit director on the post-Parade participation meeting location. Please obey the "NO PARKING" signs.

BUSES / VANS
After the discharging of passengers in their appropriate Division line-up location, proceed to the Dispersal area at Maple and Stewart Avenues (See Parade map). See the Parade Marshal at this location for specific street location line-up details on Stewart, north of Maple. Please inform your Parade participants to continue to Stewart Avenue, north of Maple, for their pickup location after their participation in the Parade has finished. Once all Parade participants have been picked up, please continue north on Stewart to Parkside, then turn right and continue east to Grace Street.

TRAILERS / FLOATS
At the conclusion of your participation in the Parade, proceed to the Dispersal area at Maple and Lombard Avenues (see Parade map). See the Parade Marshal at this location for your specific Lombard street location discharging details. Please inform all vehicles wishing to pick-up Parade participants after the Parade of your discharging location on Lombard Avenue, north of Maple. Once all Parade participants have been dispersed from the Unit, please continue north on Lombard to Parkside, then turn right and continue east to Grace Street.

EQUESTRIANS / SHRINER UNITS
At the conclusion of your participation in the Parade, turn right onto Craig Place and head south to Madison (Craig Place dead ends into Madison). Turn right on Madison and head west to Hammerschmidt. Turn left onto Hammerschmidt and head south back to your original line-up Division.

ALL OTHER UNITS (i.e. Walking Unit)
Dispersal of all other units will be along Maple per the direction of the Parade Marshal. Once the units have dispersed, Parade participants ARE NOT PERMITTED to walk back along the Parade route. Participants must stay off the street and use the sidewalk. If you are a marching band/drill team dropped off by a bus/van, see dispersal instructions above.
